You may be asking, what is a 'segment'?  A segment is basically every train you travel on, for example, if you are travelling from New York to Los Angeles, you need to get the train from New York to Chicago, change trains, then go from Chicago to Los Angeles. This would use 2 segments.

Passes are available in coach class travel across the entire United States. Business Class and accommodation upgrades are available at an additional charge.

Please note: Passengers travelling from New Orleans to Jacksonville will have to change at Charlotte and Raleigh. This is beacause the direct service to Jacksonville was discontinued after hurricane Katrina.

For all travellers intending on entering the US from 12th January 2009 on the Visa Waiver Program, which allows passport holders to visit for up to 90 days without a visa, you will now be required to have an authorisation via the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA) prior to boarding a carrier to travel by air or sea to the US. Travellers can register for authorisation online through the ESTA website and are advised to do so at least 72 hours prior to travel or alternatively your carrier have details also.
