Scenic Rail (& Flexi) Passes

Part of being on holiday is knowing you can do what you want, whenever you want. So the Scenic Rail Pass is perfect. It allows you to hop on and off any long distance train service, at any station, or the Interislander ferry, as many times as you like for the duration of your pass.

Rail passes offer excellent value for money and the more you travel, the better value they become.

Scenic Rail Pass

Choose a fixed term pass for 7, 14 or 21 days and get unlimited travel on long distance scenic train services, as well as the Interislander ferry.

This is perfect if you want to explore over 1-3 weeks, and want to be able to use the train on any of these days.

Your pass begins from the first day you use it, and you can book your trips online or by phoning 0800 250 000 (in New Zealand). To ensure there's a seat for you, you'll need to book 24 hours prior to travelling.

Scenic Rail Flexi Pass

*** Child aged 2 - 14

If you're not sure when you'd like to travel, the Flexi Pass is for you. Choose a certain number of days of train or Interislander ferry travel (minimum 3 days) and then use them whenever it suits, for up to 12 months from the date of purchase.

This gives you ultimate flexibility is great value. You'll still need to book your travel days online or by phoning 0800 250 000 (in New Zealand), 24 hours prior to travel.

Flexi Passes are valid for use up to 12 months from the date of purchase.
