Terms & Conditions - Queensland Coastal Pass

The Queensland Coastal Pass is available for one or two months unlimited travel on Countrylink and Queensland Rail East coast services in one direction only, either North or South, between the locations endorsed on the Pass.

Use of the pass must begin within six months of the date of issue and be completed within either one or two months from the first validity date (first date of travel) depending on which pass you choose. The pass is available on Mainline Countrylink and Queensland Rail East coast rail and integrated coach services only. Travel on Sydney City Rail services is only allowed in conjunction with a connecting Countrylink service. Travel is not available on Brisbane CityTrain, Melbourne Met or V-Line services.

Special bonus offers to the Queensland Coastal Pass include:

  • Coach connections to Hervey Bay/Fraser Islnd, Yeppoon, Airlie Beach/Whitsundays, Byron Bay, Port Macquarie, Yamba and Forster.
  • Citytrain connections between Robina (Gold Coast) and Brisbane or vv on passes Sydney or Melbourne to Cairns.
  • 50% discount on one Outback journey in Queensland and one Outback journey in NSW.
  • 50% discount to travel back to point of origin, or a point in between, in NSW and Queensland.
  • Bonus of one free Queensland Outback journey on either the Spirit of the Outback, The Westlander or The Inlander.
  • Free same day connection from CityTrain services in Brisbane to long distance train services.

Economy seating on Countrylink and Queensland Rail services can be upgraded to first class seating or sleeper cabins, subject to availability and relevant surcharges. travel is permitted on the Cairns Tilt Train on payment of a surcharge. No discount is available for students/backpackers/children.

Passengers are requested to arrive at their first station of travel at least 90 minutes prior to departure to have their Voucher exchanged for a Pass and validated for travel. Pass exchange stations for the Queensland Coastal Pass are: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville.

Pre-booking for all trains is required at least 24 hours in advance. Please call Low Call telephone number 13 22 32 within Australia for further information and bookings.

As many of Countrylink and Queensland Rail's services are heavily patronized year round, pre-booking is compulsory and to ensure you obtain maximum value from your pass, you are strongly advised to reserve space on as many rail sectors as possible before arrival in Australia or as soon as possible before travel.

Unused passes receive a refund and must be returned the issuing office to process. The refund will be subject to 20% cancellation charges. An additional admin fee will also be charged. Once the pass has been validated (first leg travelled) or lost, no refund is issued.
