KTX train classes and onboard services

The seating inside the KTX is ergonomic and has been especially designed to fit the human body. They have also been space allocated to enhance comfort ability.

The KTX trains offer first and second class seating with swivelling seats, which can be rotated around at terminal stations so that they always face in the direction of travel. You can also expect family compartments with separated facing seats.

The rest rooms on board the KTX are fully fitted with toilet and washbasin facilities and all rest room doors are fully automatic. For disabled passengers, the rest rooms have been designed to accommodate non motorised wheelchairs so that the user has ample space to turn. Korail are presently working on a solution to accommodate motorised chairs.

Other disabled facilities per train include;  2 seats for disabled travellers per compartment, 1 disabled toilet and 1 wheelchair storage compartment.

There are a total of 13 vending machines onboard each KTX train with 10 of them being drink vending machines and 3 being snack vending machines. There are no dining cars on the KTX.

Other passenger comfort features include a video/audio system an intercom system, wireless internet access, digital multimedia broadcasts and business compartments with small tables.

All passenger compartments are equipped with ceiling-mounted video displays, on a 19" LCD screen. For safety all passenger compartments are fitted with fire detectors and passenger information facilities are provided in each passenger compartment.
