UPDATE: SNCF Strike - Thursday 12th December 2013

Further to our earlier annoucement, Industrial action is confirmed to take place in France on Thursday 12th December 2013, starting at 20:00 on Wednesday 11th December until 08:00 on Friday 13th December 2013.

Talgo 463 Montpellier to Cartagena:
Will start in Port Bou. Passengers travelling from Montpellier, Beziers, Narbonne, Perpignan and Cerbere will be able to take a replacement bus to Barcelona, where they can then board Talgo 165 to their onwards destination.

ELIPSOS:
• 477 Paris to Barcelona: CANCELLED
•409 Paris to Madrid: CANCELLED

There are no alternatives modes of transport available for customers who were due to travel on Elipsos.

AFER-SALES

SNCF journeys:
All tickets with reservation (Public, Group and RIT, and regardless of the aftersales conditions stated on the ticket) valid for travel within France between 20:00 on Wednesday 11th December and 08:00 on Friday 13th December 2013 can be used on any other train, operating on the same route as the original ticket from Wednesday 11th December until midnight on Friday 13th December 2013.

Seats cannot be guaranteed during this time.

Due to expected service disruptions, the timetable cannot be guaranteed.

Groups are advised not to travel during the strike.

In the event that an overnight train in France is cancelled, passengers with tickets valid to travel on that service are instead advised to travel on a day train serving the same route as the original ticket.

Tickets must still be validated in the yellow machines at the station, prior to boarding the train.

Exchanges and Refunds:
Customers due to travel in France from 20:00 on Wednesday 11th December until 08:00 on Friday 13th December 2013 who wish to cancel their journey, can obtain a full refund before or after departure. If a customer wishes to postpone their journey for a date after the strike, this must be processed as a full refund, followed by the sale of a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers in possession of a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

AutoTrain journeys:
AutoTrain services are not impacted by the strike.

EUROSTAR:
Eurostar services are not affected and are expected to run as normal. However, passengers making a connecting journey in France who are impacted by the industrial action can exchange their ticket free of charge regardless of ticket type. Tickets can be exchanged within 60 days for any available date within the booking horizon.

TGV FRANCE-ITALY:
All tickets with reservation (Public, Group and RIT, and regardless of the aftersales conditions stated on the ticket) valid for travel on a TGV France-Italy service between 20:00 on Wednesday 11th December and 08:00 on Friday 13th December 2013 can be used on any other train, operating on the same route as the original ticket from Wednesday 11th December until midnight on Friday 13th December 2013.

Seats cannot be guaranteed during this time.

Due to expected service disruptions, the timetable cannot be guaranteed.

Exchanges and Refunds:
Customers who decide not to travel on 12th December 2013, can obtain a full refund before or after departure. If a customer wishes to postpone their journey for a date after the strike, this must be processed as a full refund, followed by the sale of a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers in possession of a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

Passengers with tickets valid to travel on a disrupted service can get a full refund, regardless of ticket conditions, if they decide not to travel.
