Update: Italian Railway Strike - 21st July 2011

We have been informed of a rail strike that is taking place in Italy, which will start today Thursday 21st July at 9pm and will finish on Friday 22nd July at 9pm.

As a result some Artesia services will be affected. The details of affected services are listed below:

Artesia overnight services

Running as normal

Artesia day services

21st July

TGV 9249 (Paris to Milan) will terminate in Turin Porta Nuova. Please note that usually the train goes to Turin Porta Susa. Passengers for Milan will be transported by replacement bus service from Turin Porta Nuova to Milan Centrale.

TGVs 9240/9248/9241 will operate a normal service.

22nd July

TGVs 9241 and 9249 (Paris to Milan) will terminate in Modane. Passengers will be transported by replacement bus service from Modane to their final destination (stated on their ticket) in Italy.

TGV 9240 (Milan to Paris): Passengers will be transported by replacement bus from Milan to Modane. Passengers can then take a TGV from Modane to Paris.

TGV 9248 (Milan to Paris): Passengers with tickets valid from Turin, Oulx and Bardonecchia will be transported by replacemet bus service to Modane. They can then take a TGV from Modane to Paris. Passengers with tickets valid from Milan will be re-accommodated onto the overnight service to Paris (train 220).

After-Sales

Passengers who opt not to travel on the affected services can obtain a full refund regardless of the after-sales conditions stated on the ticket. Passengers with return tickets, where one leg of the journey is affected by the strike, can get a full refund on both tickets, provided both tickets are unused.
