Update: Industrial Action in France - Thursday 25th October 2012

Further to our previous notification regarding the industrial action that is taking place in France on today, please find below details on service disruptions and further information regarding after-sales conditions.

Thursday 25th October 2012 - Day services

EUROSTAR:

  • Normal service. Calais Fréthun Station is CLOSED.

TGV FRANCE-ITALY:

  • Normal service.

TGV FRANCE-SPAIN:

  • TGV 6203 Paris -> Figueres: Will terminate in Montpellier.
  • TGV 6213 Paris -> Figueres: CANCELLED
  • TGV 6232 Figueres -> Paris: Will start in Montpellier
  • TGV 6212 Figueres -> Paris: Will start in Montpellier

TGV LYRIA Normal service apart from the following:

  • 9774 Geneva -> Paris CANCELLED
  • 9765 Paris -> Geneva CANCELLED

THALYS:

  • Normal service

TGV ALLEO (France > Germany day trains):

  • Normal service.

TALGO DAY:

  • 460 & 463 CANCELLED

DEUTSCHE BAHN:

  • IC 360 Munich (16:48) - Strasbourg: Terminates in Kehl. Local train services are available between Kehl and Strasbourg.
  • IC 361 Strasbourg (06:53) - Munich: Begins in Kehl (07:05). Local train services are available between Kehl and Strasbourg.

  • Normal service.

France TGV:

  • TGV Atlantique (services between Paris and western France): 2 in 3 trains running.

No services between Tours and St Pierre des Corps.

Thursday 25th October 2012 - Overnight services

AUTOTRAIN:

  • All trains CANCELLED from Nice, Toulon, Fréjus, Marseille and Avignon to Paris.

LUNEA:

  • All trains CANCELLED

CITY NIGHT LINE:

  • Only services between Paris and Berlin will run.

ELIPSOS:

  • 477 Paris -> Barcelona: CANCELLED. Replacement bus available. No stop in Limoges.
  • 475 Barcelona -> Paris: CANCELLED. Replacement bus available. No stop in Figueres (no customers).
  • 409 Paris -> Madrid: CANCELLED. Passengers will be transferred from Paris to Irun on a replacement bus service. They will then be transferred onto a train from Irun to Madrid.
  • 407 Madrid -> Paris: CANCELLED. Passengers will be transferred onto a train from Madrid to Irun and will then travel on a replacement bus service from Irun to Paris.
  • 273 Barcelona -> Zurich: CANCELLED. Passengers will be transferred from Barcelona to Geneva by replacement bus service. They will then be transferred by train from Geneva to Zurich.
  • 274 Zurich -> Barcelona: No service on Thursdays.
  • 11273 Barcelona -> Milan: CANCELLED. Replacement bus available.
  • 11274 Milan -> Barcelona: No service on Thursdays.


Friday 26th October 2012

ELIPSOS:
Normal service apart from:

  • 409 Paris -> Madrid: CANCELLED. Passengers will be transferred from Paris to Irun on a replacement bus service. They will then be transferred onto a train from Irun to Madrid.

EUROSTAR:

A normal service is expected to operate.

Passengers with Eurostar French Connections tickets or Eurostar plus onwards tickets valid for travel in France during the strike, can get a free exchange on their Eurostar French Connections ticket or Eurostar ticket if they opt not to travel. This is subject to availability on alternative Eurostar services.

Passengers should be advised to check www.infolignes.com to check the status of their onwards train in France first.

TGV FRANCE-ITALY:

A normal service is expected to operate. However, all tickets with reservation (Public, Group and RIT, and regardless of the after-sales conditions stated on the ticket) valid for travel on a TGV France-Italy service between 20:00 on Wednesday 24th October and 08:00 on Friday 26th October 2012 can be used on any other train, operating on the same route as the original ticket until midnight on Friday 26th October 2012.

Tickets cannot be used to travel the day before the strike.

Seats cannot be guaranteed during this time.

Tickets must still be validated in the yellow machines at the station, prior to boarding the train.

Passengers due to travel on a TGV France-Italy service from 20:00 on Wednesday 24th October until 08:00 on Friday 26th October 2012 who wish to cancel their journey, can obtain a full refund before or after departure.

Passengers wishing to postpone their journey for a date after the strike will need to obtain a full refund and purchase a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers who have a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

ELIPSOS:

Passengers due to travel on a cancelled Elipsos service can obtain a full refund.

Exchanges must be processed as a full refund followed by a new sale. If the cost of the new ticket is greater than that of the original ticket, passengers will be required to pay this difference in cost.

Alternative modes of transport have been put in place for some Elipsos services that have been cancelled due to the strike. Passengers who opt to travel on these alternative modes of transport will be refunded the difference between the cost of their original ticket and the cost of a reclining seat ticket (provided the cost of a reclining seat is cheaper than their original ticket).

TGV FRANCE-SPAIN:

Customers due to travel on either TGV 9765 or 9774 on 25th October 2012 can get a full refund. Exchanges must be processed as a full refund followed by a new sale. If the cost of the new ticket is greater than that of the original ticket, passengers will be required to pay this difference in cost.
