Update French Strike - Tuesday 11th October 2011

We now have more information on services that are running, have been cancelled and replacement services during the French strikes;

International rail services:

TGV ALLEO (France - Germany day trains): Normal service.
ARTESIA DAY (France - Italy): Normal service.
TGV LYRIA (France - Switzerland): Normal service apart from the 6581, 6585 & 6584 are CANCELLED.
THALYS: Normal Service.
TALGO DAY: All trains CANCELLED

Intercités & Téoz:

  • Clermont - Marseille: Services cancelled and replaced by buses
  • Clermont - Beziers: All trains CANCELLED
  • Paris - Limoges - Toulouse: 1 in 2 trains running.
  • Paris - Clermont: 2 in 3 trains running.
  • Paris - Nevers: 1 in 2 trains running.
  • Bordeaux - Marseille: 1 in 2 trains running. The 4662/3 (Bordeaux 14h57 Marseille 20h42) and 4756/7(Marseille 09h14 Bordeaux 15h16) will replace the 4660/1 and 4754/5.
  • Lyon - Metz: Normal service
  • Lyon - Strasbourg: Normal service apart from the 4214/5 and 4312/3 are CANCELLED and the 4218/9 will be redirected via Dijon and Bourgogne Sud (the train will not stop at Bourg en Bresse or Lons le Saulnier).
  • Paris - Rouen - Le Havre: 2 in 3 trains running.
  • Paris - Caen - Cherbourg: 2 in 3 trains running.
  • Paris - Granville: 1 in 2 trains running.
  • Caen - Le Mans - Tours: All trains CANCELLED
  • Nantes Lyon: All trains CANCELLED
  • Bordeaux Lyon: All trains CANCELLED
  • Paris - Tours: 1 in 3 trains running. Trains will not stop at Orléans
  • Paris - Bourges - Montluçon: 1 in 3 trains running. Trains will terminate in Bourges.
  • Toulouse - Hendaye: 1 in 3 trains running. Trains will terminate in Bayonne.
  • Quimper - Nantes - Bordeaux - Toulouse: 1 in 3 trains running.
  • Paris - St Quentin - Maubeuge: 1 in 2 trains running.
  • Paris - Amiens - Boulogne: 1 in 2 trains running.
  • Paris - Mulhouse: 1 in 2 trains running.
  • Basel - Brussels: Normal service

France - TGV:

TGV Nord (services between Paris and northern France): Normal service apart from the following:

  • 7220 will start in Boulogne
  • 7275 will terminate in Boulogne

TGV EST (services between Paris and eastern France): Normal service
TGV Sud Est (services between Paris and south/south-eastern France): Normal service with the following exceptions:

  • Alps: 6923, 6925, 6927, 6949 & 6951 are CANCELLED
  • Provence - Alps - Cote d'Azur & Rhone Valley: 1 in 3 trains running.

TGV Atlantique (services between Paris and western France): 1 in 2 trains running:

  • 8088 will start in St Malo
  • 8505 will terminate in Irun
  • 8527 will start in Pau
  • 8535 will terminate in Toulouse
  • 8543 will terminate in Hendaye
  • 8557 will terminate in Pau
  • 8558 will start in Hendaye
  • 8747 will terminate in Quimper
  • 8780 will start in Quimper

TGV Province - Province

  • North - East: Normal service
  • North - South East: 2 in 3 trains running
  • North - West: 1 in 2 trains running
  • West - South East: 1 in 2 trains running
  • West - East: 1 in 2 trains running

Paris transport system

Metro
Near normal service on all lines, apart from Lines 5, 7 & 9 where only 1 in 2 or 2 in 3 trains are running.

RER
RER A & E: 3 in 4 trains running.
RER B & C: 1 in 2 trains running.
RER D: 2 in 3 trains running.

Bus Near normal service

Tuesday 11th October 2011 - Overnight services

LUNEA (French Overnight Trains): All trains CANCELLED.
AUTOTRAIN: All trains CANCELLED.
ARTESIA NIGHT (France - Italy): Normal service
ELIPSOS: Only the following trains will run: 474, 272/3, 370/1 & 477
CITYNIGHTLINE (Paris-Germany routes): Normal service

Wednesday 12th October 2011 - Day services

  • 463 is CANCELLED
  • 3610 Cahors 06h34 Paris 11h51 will start in Brive 07h45
  • 5170 Bordeaux 05h40 Dijon 13h54 will start in Montpellier 09h58
  • 5316 Le Havre 07h55 Marseille 14h18 will start in Rouen 08h45
  • 6174 Vintimille 08h38 Paris 15h24 will start in Nice 09h35
  • 852 Tarbes 07h20 Paris 13h55 will start in Pau 08h07

After-sales conditions

These after-sales conditions apply to tickets valid on French domestic journeys only.

SNCF journeys:
All tickets with reservation (Public, Group and RIT, and regardless of the after-sales conditions stated on the ticket) valid for travel within France between 20:00 on Monday 10th and 08:00 on Wednesday 12th October 2011 can be used on any other train, operating on the same route as the original ticket until midnight on Wednesday 12th October 2011. Tickets cannot be used to travel the day before the strike. Seats cannot be guaranteed during this time.

Due to expected service disruptions, the timetable cannot be guaranteed.

Groups are advised not to travel during the strike.

Tickets must still be validated in the yellow machines at the station, prior to boarding the train.

Exchanges and Refunds:
Customers due to travel in France from 20:00 on Monday 10th to 08:00 on Wednesday 12th October 2011 who wish to cancel their journey, can obtain a full refund before or after departure. If a customer wishes to postpone their journey for a date after the strike, this must be processed as a full refund, followed by the sale of a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers in possession of a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

AutoTrain journeys:
Passengers who opt not to travel between the aforementioned times can obtain a full refund, regardless of the after-sales conditions stated on their original AutoTrain and passenger tickets.

Passengers can have their AutoTrain and passenger tickets exchanged free of charge for travel before 31st October 2011. Any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets will be covered by the SNCF.

or

Passengers can have their AutoTrain and passenger tickets exchanged free of charge for travel after 31st October 2011. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Eurostar: A normal service is expected to operate.

Refunds

In order to process any refunds, tickets must be received by International Rail within 28 days of the date of travel.
