Swiss Federal Railways to boost WLAN and mobile reception

The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) has announced plans to improve passenger access to Internet and mobile services at stations and on trains.

Over the next three years free WLAN access will be introduced at some 100 stations. In addition, the installation of repeaters will improve reception on long distance trains.

Mobile providers are also to close existing gaps in data and telephone reception along major rail routes in Switzerland.
