*UPDATE* Industrial Action in France - Wednesday 09th October 2013

Following on from our communication on 04 October, regarding the industrial action that is confirmed to take place in France from 20:00 Tuesday 08 October until 08:00 Thursday 10 October 2013, we have received updated information regarding affected services and after-sales.

Day 08 October 2013

INTERNATIONAL TRAINS:

  • ALLEO: normal service
  • TGV FRANCE ITALY: normal service
  • LYRIA: normal service
  • ELIPSOS: normal service
  • THALYS: normal service
  • EUROSTAR: normal service
  • All TGV's are running normally.

INTERCITYS DAY:

3669 Paris 17h53 Cahors 23h14 will terminate in Brive La Gaillarde at 22h00

TALGO DAY:

460 - Lorca to Montpellier. This service terminates in Port Bou. Customers who are going further into France will need to disembark in Figueres where a bus service will take them to their destination. This train is currently closed for sale between Port Bou and Montpellier.

Night of 08-09 October 2013

No Intercity nights trains are running.

ELIPSOS:

This service is not affected as they are no trains due to run.

CITYNIGHTLINE:

455 Paris 18h44 Berlin - This is running as normal
450 Berlin 20h07 Paris - This is running as normal

THELLO:

No information has been given regarding these services.

463 - Montpellier to Cartagena. This service will originate in Port Bou. Customer travelling further than Port Bou, will have a bus service to Barcelona. The Talgo 165 will take customers to their destination. This train is currently closed for sale for journeys between Montpellier to Port Bou.

TGV South East: Normal service

TGV Atlantic:
Normal service with the exception of:

8531 Paris 7h28 Irun 13h21 this will terminate in Hendaye at 13h11
8537 Paris 12h27 Irun 18h21 this will terminate in Hendaye at 18h11

4655 - Bordeaux 06h34 Nice 15h56 (this train replaces the 4657 - Bordeaux 09h31 to Marseille 15h42.
4655 - This service now extra stops (those of 4657) these are: Agen, Montauban, Carcassonne, Narbonne, Beziers, Sete, Nimes and Arles.

Paris to Rouen and Le Havre: Normal service

Paris to Caen and Cherbourg: Normal service

Paris to Granville: Normal service

Caen to Le Mans and Tours: No trains are running

Nantes to Lyon: 1 in 2 trains are running

Bordeaux to Lyon: Normal service

1 in 2 trains are running, with the following changes:

Paris to Bourges and Montluçon: 1 in 2 trains are running, all the trains will either terminate or originate in Bourges.

Toulouse to Hendaye: 1 in 2 trains are running

Quimper to Nantes to Bordeaux and Toulouse: 1 in 2 trains are running

Paris to St Quentin and Maubeuge: Normal service

Paris to Amiens and Boulogne: Normal service

3610 Cahors 06h50 Paris 12h07 this will originate in Brive la Gaillarde 08h00

TALGO DAY:

After-sales

SNCF journeys

All tickets with reservation (Public, Group and RIT, and regardless of the aftersales conditions stated on the ticket) valid for travel within France on 09 October 2013 can be used on any other trains operating on the same route as the original ticket.

Seats cannot be guaranteed during this time.

Due to expected service disruptions, the timetable cannot be guaranteed.

Groups are advised not to travel during the strike.

Tickets must still be validated in the yellow machines at the station, prior to boarding the train.

Exchanges and Refunds (SNCF journeys):

Customers due to travel in France on 09 October 2013 who wish to cancel their journey, can obtain a full refund before or after departure. If a customer wishes to postpone their journey for a date after the strike, this must be processed as a full refund, followed by the sale of a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers in possession of a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

EUROSTAR:

Eurostar services are running as normal. Affected customers who wish to exchange their Eurostar French Connection ticket can do this by contacting us. If a customer has purchased a Eurostar and any other service (not a Eurostar French Connection journey), Eurostar will offer exchanges if the passenger's connection is affected by the strike. However, if their connection is not affected, Eurostar will only allow exchanges refunds within the conditions of the tickets. These free exchanges have to be done within the next 60 days to travel within the next 90 days.

TALGO DAY:

Passengers with tickets valid to travel on one of the above affected services can get a full refund, regardless of ticket conditions, if they decide not to travel.

Please use infolignes to find out whether a specific train is running or not. You can check the status of a train up to 5 days prior to its departure.

Refunds

In order to process any refunds, tickets must be received by International Rail within 28 days of the date of travel. Tickets should be sent to the following address.
