Service Update: Line Closures in Portugal

Service Update: Line Closures in Portugal

We have been informed that as part of a cost cutting exercise, 600km of railway track will close in Portugal in January 2012. This is expected to save the Portuguese government around 5.6 million Euros a year.

Please click here to see the lines that will close. They are highlighted on the map in red, orange and black.

Alternative modes of transport (buses & coaches) will be put in place to make up for the loss of rail service connections on some of the routes.

This is the most up-to-date information that we have and will update you with further information as soon as we receive it via our news feed here on the website.
