Rail Strike affecting Italy/Germany: 26th July 2012

We have been advised by Trenitalia that a rail strike is taking place today from 09:00 this morning up until 17:00 tonight.

The following services are affected:

  • EC 80 - Verona (09:02) - München - begins Innsbruck - Replacement bus service to Innsbruck
  • EC 81 - München (07:31) - Verona - terminates Innsbruck - Replacement bus service from Innsbruck
  • EC 84 - Bologna (11:46) - München - EC 85 - München (09:31) - Bologna - *EC 84 and EC 85: trains operate to/from Verona and to/from Innsbruck. - Replacement buses operate between Verona and Bologna and v.v.
  • EC 86 - Venezia (13:34) - München - begins Innsbruck -Replacement bus service to Innsbruck
  • EC 87 - München (11:31) - Venezia - terminates Innsbruck - Replacement bus service from Innsbruck
  • EC 88 - Verona (09:02) - München - begins Innsbruck - Replacement bus service to Innsbruck
  • EC 89 - München (13:31) - Verona - terminates Innsbruck - Replacement bus service from Innsbruck

Buses begin and terminate at Innsbruck Frachtenbahnhof. Extension of journey times by up to 2 hours must be expected. The buses are scheduled to operate at the regular train times. However, times may vary depending on traffic conditions.

The rail operator, Trenitalia, advises that during the strike trains are subject to short term changes or cancellations. Trains will resume the scheduled times after the end of the strike. However, it is likely that disruptions continue for some time.

Compensation for Delay will not be awarded because strikes are considered as force majeure.
