Italian Strike Update - Friday 21st October 2011

Following on from our previous communication regarding the industrial action taking place in Italy on Friday 21st October 2011.

Artesia have now informed us that some of their services will be affected by this, the details are as follows:

Artesia Overnight

21st October:

Normal service. However, please note that customers travelling in sleeper cabins on the 221 (Paris ro Venice) and 227 (Paris to Rome) are not guaranteed to be served breakfast the next morning. Also, sleepers and couchette cabins will have the beds in position from the start of the journey.

Artesia Day

21st October:

  • TGV n° 9241 is CANCELLED. Passengers can travel on the 9249 service instead.
  • TGV n° 9249 Normal service.
  • TGV n°9240 Normal service.
  • TGV n°9248 is cancelled between Milan and Modane. Passengers departing from Milan will be re-accommodated onto the 220 overnight service from Milan to Paris. Passengers with tickets valid to travel from other departure stations in Italy can take a local train to reach Milan, and then catch the 220 to Paris.

After-Sales

Customers with tickets valid to travel on any of the disrupted/cancelled Artesia services can get a full refund regardless of the after-sales conditions stated on the ticket. Passengers in possession of a return ticket, where one leg of the journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

To claim a refund on behalf of your customer, tickets need to be sent back to us by special delivery to the following address, within 28 days of the date of travel.
