German Rail Strike - 3rd - 6th May 2011

We have been advised that the German train drivers union GDL has called for a 72-hour strike from Tuesday, 03.May, 14:00hrs until Friday, 06.May, 14:00hrs.

The strike will affect trains of the following operators:

  • AKN Eisenbahn
  • Bayerische Regiobahn GmbH   
  • Berchtesgadener Landbahn GmbH
  • Hohenzollerische Landesbahn AG (HzL)
  • Nord-Ostsee-Bahn GmbH (NOB)
  • Ostseeland Verkehr GmbH (OLA)
  • Prignitzer Eisenbahn GmbH, Betriebsteil NRW
  • Veolia Verkehr Regio Ost GmbH
  • Veolia Verkehr Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH

DB will not be affected by this strike action

Even though there will be no strike action directed at DB services, it is possible that knock-on effects may affect DB services.

Passengers affected by strike action should contact the train operator against whose services the strike was directed.

Passengers should contact ServicePoints at stations to enquire about the next connection to their destination. Tickets will be accepted on other services if they have been endorsed by the ServicePoint. 

Compensation for Delay will not be awarded because strikes are considered as force majeure.
