FURTHER UPDATE: Eurostar & European Rail Services Affected Due to Adverse Weather

Adverse weather conditions are still affecting rail services on the Continent (today 13th March), please see below for specific details:

EUROSTAR

Disruption on the high speed line is expected to continue, and Eurostar anticipate speed restrictions remaining in place throughout the day. Eurostar will only be able to operate an amended timetable and journey times will be between 40 and 60 minutes longer than usual.

The following services on 13th March have been cancelled:

London - Paris:

  • 9080 (05.40 departure)
  • 9040 (16.22 departure)
  • 9054 (20.01 departure)

Paris - London:

  • 9007 (07.13 departure)
  • 9015 (09.13 departure)
  • 9059 (20.13 departure)

London - Brussels:

  • 9126 (10.58 departure)
  • 9136 (14.04 departure)

Brussels - London:

  • 9117 (08.52 departure)
  • 9145 (15.56 departure)

Eurostar is advising all passengers to avoid travelling today unless the journey is essential.

Customers due to travel on an above cancelled train can exchange their ticket for travel on a future date from Thursday 14th March. These customers are advised not to arrive at the station today, as they will not be able to travel.

Passengers booked to travel on other services, and who still wish to travel, should check in as normal, but be advised that journey times will be longer than normal, and subject to last minute changes and cancellations.

Customers due to travel today, and either are on a cancelled train, or choose not to travel, will be able to refund or exchange their ticket within the next 60 days from Thursday 14 March 2013. Exchanges can be made for new travel dates within the next 120 days.

THALYS

Thalys services are experiencing severe delays and a few cancellations across their whole network on Wednesday 13th March 2013. Thalys are advising customers to postpone their travels.

Customers can exchange their ticket in a station locally, for travel up to and including 26th March 2013, regardless of the conditions stated on their ticket.

All Thalys tickets valid on 12 and 13 March 2013 are refundable regardless of ticket conditions.

SNCF

Services in northern France are disrupted today due to the bad weather and speed restrictions are in place on the high speed line between Paris and northern France. TGV services will run at reduced speed and so delays of 30 minutes are to be expected.

  • TGV Nord (northern France): Major disruption to services.
  • TGV Est (Eastern France): Speed restrictions in place. Delays of up to 30mins.
  • Intercités Normandy: Disruptions between Caen-Cherbourg and Rouen-Le Havre. All Intercities services from Paris St Lazare will terminate in Caen and Rouen today

Due to expected service disruptions, the timetable cannot be guaranteed.

Groups are advised not to travel during the strike.

Tickets must still be validated in the yellow machines at the station, prior to boarding the train.

We do not yet have details of any additional refund or exchange conditions SNCF may be offering to customers affected by disruptions today.
