Engineering Works Across Europe - Various Rail Services Affected

We have been notified of various engineering works that are scheduled to take place in the coming months.

The details are as follows.

Engineering works in France (January to March)

Besancon to Paris: Until 31 of March 2014 - TGV 6745 and 6750 are departing slightly earlier. These are now departing at:

  • Train no 6745 - departing at 06h25 instead of 06h32
  • Train no 6750 - departing at 05h27 instead of 06h30
  • Train no 6129 (Paris - Toulon) - will terminate in Marseille (instead of Toulon) until 17 March, 24 to 28 March and 31 March 2014.

No trains will run between Marseille and Nice from 28 March after 23h00 until 30 March at 15h40. No buses will be put in place to travel between Marseille and Nice during this time.

The TGV's between Paris and Nice are cancelled. Alternative TGV's will have a departure or destination of Marseille.

From 18 February until 14 March, due to engineering works, some services are currently closed for sale. The services should re-open in due course, once the timetable change is confirmed. The affected routes are as follows

  • Nantes - Marseille
  • Rennes - Marseille
  • Le Havre - Marseille
  • Paris - Marseille
  • Paris - Toulon
  • Paris - Nice

Engineering works in the Languedoc area -  24 March to 6 June

The following route are not currently open due to engineering works on the line

  • Montpellier - Paris
  • Montpellier - Marne la Vallée
  • Montpellier - Lille
  • Montpellier - Brussels
  • Montpellier - Strasbourg
  • Montpellier - Metz
  • Montpellier - Nantes
  • Montpellier - Geneva
  • Montpellier - Lyon
  • Rennes - Montpellier
  • Béziers - Paris
  • Perpignan - Paris
  • Perpignan - Brussels
  • Toulouse - Dijon
  • Bordeaux - Lyon
  • Barcelona - Paris
  • Barcelona - Lyon
  • Barcelona - Marseille
  • Lyon - Toulouse

Engineering works between Paris and Lyon - 20 May to 30 August

Due to the renewal of the Ballast on the High Speed Line between Paris and Lyon, all the TGV services are closed for sale from 20 May to 30 August.

This will impact the following routes:

  • Paris - South Eastern France
  • Paris - Milan (via André la Gaz & Lyon Airport)
  • South Eastern - Northern France
  • South Eastern France - Atlantic coast
  • Provence Alpes and Cote d'Azur - Paris
  • Languedoc Roussillon - Paris
  • TGV Rhine Rhone (south - north)

The services should re-open in due course, once the new timetable has been confirmed.

Engineering works affecting Thalys services - April 2014

Due to engineering work, Thalys services to and from Germany will be disrupted from 14 April until 21 April. These trains are currently closed for sale but are scheduled to open on 28 January.

The main changes are as follows

  • Thalys 9412, 9437, 9473 and 9484 will call at Cologne.
  • Thalys 9448 and 9401 will not call at Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf Airport, Duisburg and Essen.
  • Services will call at Aachen as usual.

Engineering works between Bellegarde and Geneva - 02 May to 24 August

Engineering works are scheduled to take place between Bellegarde and Geneva from May to August. Lyria services will be affected by this but we have yet to receive the full details.
