Derailment of SNCF service in Bretigny-sur-Orge - Service disruption 15 July 2013

Following on from the derailment of an Intercities service in Bretigny on 12 July 2013, services in that area are being disrupted, however the following services are running today (15 July 2013) but they may be subject to delays of approximately 3 hours.

Passengers with InterCities tickets valid for travel today (15 July 2013) for services to or from Paris Gare Austerlitz can travel to or from Paris Gare Montparnasse and Paris Gare de Lyon on TGV services using their original ticket.

15 July 2013:

♦ Train no: 3700 Toulouse - Paris via Vierzon
♦ Train no: 3610 Brive la Gaillarde - Paris via Vierzon
♦ Train no: 3630 Cerbères - Paris via Vierzon
♦ Train no: 3680 Toulouse - Paris via Vierzon
♦ Train no: 3701 Paris - Toulouse via Vierzon
♦ Train no: 3631 Paris - Cerbères via Vierzon
♦ Train no: 3651 Paris - Brive la gaillarde via Vierzon
♦ Train no: 3667 Paris - Brive la gaillarde via Vierzon

No overnight trains will run in either direction between Paris and Limoges or Toulouse on Monday 15 July.

AUTO TRAIN:

Services are due to resume from tonight - 15 July 2013 - however these will have an arrival delay of 3 hours.

ELIPSOS:

  • 477 - Paris to Barcelona - This service will run as normal with an arrival delay of about 3 hours (no compensation offered for the delay).
  • 475 - Barcelona to Paris - This service will also run as normal.
  • 409 - Paris to Madrid - This service is CANCELLED, passengers have the option to travel on the TGV France - Spain from Paris to Figueres on 16 July leaving at 07h15 and then the AVE from Figueres to Madrid leaving at 12h55, arriving at 17h10.
  • 407 - Madrid to Paris - This service is CANCELLED, passengers have the option to travel on the AVE from Madrid to Figueres on 16 July 2013 leaving at 05h50 and then the TGV France - Spain from Figueres to Paris leaving at 10h20, arriving at 15h53.

After-sales (15 July 2013)

SNCF (Domestic French day and overnight services, excluding AutoTrain):

Customers wishing to cancel their trip may do so and are able to claim a full refund on their affected ticket.

Customers wishing to exchange their ticket to an alternative date may do so by claiming a full refund and rebooking tickets for the new date of travel. Any difference in cost is payable by the customer.

ELIPSOS

Paris to Barcelona (15 July), the following after sales apply:

  • Passengers due to travel on a cancelled Elipsos service can obtain a full refund. Elipsos are not offering any compensation for the delayed arrival.

Paris to Madrid (15 July), the following after sales apply:

  • Passengers due to travel on a cancelled Elipsos service can obtain a full refund. Exchanges must be processed as a full refund followed by a new sale. If the cost of the new ticket is greater than that of the original ticket, passengers will be required to pay this difference in cost.
  • Alternative modes of transport have been put in place for some Elipsos services (Paris to Madrid and Madrid to Paris) that have been cancelled due to the Brétigny incident. Passengers who opt to travel on these alternative modes of transport will be refunded the difference between the cost of their original ticket and the cost of a reclining seat ticket (provided the cost of a reclining seat is cheaper than their original ticket).
