2nd UPDATE: Industrial Action in France - 13th June 2013

Following on from our communication earlier regarding the updated industrial action confirmed to take place in France from 20:00 Wednesday 12 June until 08:00 Friday 14 June 2013, we have received some further information regarding affected services and after-sales.

The details are as follows;

Wednesday 12th June - day trains: TGV France - Italy:

Normal service.

TGV France-Spain:

  • Train 9711 Paris - Figueres Vilafant de 07h15 - Normal service
  • Train 9715 Paris - Figueres Vilafant de 14h07 - Normal service
  • Train 9702 Figueres Vilafant - Paris de 10h20 - Normal service
  • Train 9706 Figueres Vilafant - Paris de 14h20 - Normal service

Talgo Day:

  • 460: Terminating in Port Bou. Passengers for Cerbere, Perpignan, Narbonne, Beziers and Montpellier can take a replacement bus from Figueres to their destination.

Domestic France:

Thello:

207: Paris to Rome: CANCELLED. Customers will be able to travel on Thello 221 (arriving in Milan at 05:38) where they can then take a day train to their onwards destination of Bologna, Florence or Rome.

206: Rome to Paris: CANCELLED. Customers will be able to take a day train from Rome Termini (19:25), Florence Campo di Marte (21:34) or Bologna Centrale (22:34) to Milan. Customers can then board Thello 220 to Paris (planned to leave at 00:30).

  • Paris to/from Basel/Zurich: The 9205, 9207, 9219, 9223, 9206, 9210, 9226 and 9230 are running.
  • Paris to/from Neuchatel / Bern / Interlaken: All services CANCELLED
  • Paris to/from Lausanne: The 9261, 9269, 9273, 9260, 9268 and 9272 are running.
  • Paris to/from Geneva: All services are redirected via Lyon Part Dieu, adding 40 mins - 1 hour to the journey time.
  • Geneva to/from Montpellier / Nice / Marseille: All services CANCELLED

TGV France-Spain:

AFTER-SALES

SNCF journeys

All tickets with reservation (Public, Group and RIT, and regardless of the aftersales conditions stated on the ticket) valid for travel within France between 20:00 on Wednesday 12th June until 08:00 on Friday 14th June 2013 can be used on any other train, operating on the same route as the original ticket until midnight on Friday 14th June 2013. Tickets cannot be used to travel the day before the strike.

Seats cannot be guaranteed during this time.

Due to expected service disruptions, the timetable cannot be guaranteed.

Groups are advised not to travel during the strike.

Tickets must still be validated in the yellow machines at the station, prior to boarding the train.

Exchanges and Refunds (SNCF journeys):

Customers due to travel in France from 20:00 on Wednesday 12th June until 08:00 on Friday 14th June 2013 who wish to cancel their journey, can obtain a full refund before or after departure. If a customer wishes to postpone their journey for a date after the strike, this must be processed as a full refund, followed by the sale of a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers in possession of a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

EUROSTAR

Eurostar services should not be affected and are expected to run as normal.

Customers making a connecting journey and who are impacted by the industrial action have the option of exchanging their ticket for an alternative date. All changes will be free of charge within 2 months, regardless of ticket conditions, but subject to availability on alternative services. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Please note, we cannot apply SNCF domestic ticket conditions to the French portion of "Eurostar Connections" bookings.

AUTOTRAIN

Passengers who are unable to travel due to the cancellation of their AutoTrain service can obtain a full refund on their AutoTrain and passenger tickets, regardless of the after-sales conditions stated on their original tickets.

or

Passengers can have their AutoTrain and passenger tickets exchanged free of charge for travel any time before 7th June 2013. Any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets will be covered by the SNCF.

or

Passengers can have their AutoTrain and passenger tickets exchanged free of charge for travel on or after 22nd June 2013. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

TGV FRANCE-ITALY

All tickets with reservation (Public, Group and RIT, and regardless of the aftersales conditions stated on the ticket) valid for travel on Thursday 13th June 2013 can be used on any other train, operating on the same route as the original ticket until midnight on Saturday 15th June 2013. Tickets cannot be used to travel the day before the strike.

Seats cannot be guaranteed during this time.

Due to expected service disruptions, the timetable cannot be guaranteed.

Groups are advised not to travel during the strike.

Tickets must still be validated in the yellow machines at the station, prior to boarding the train.

Exchanges and refunds (TGV BRUSSELS - PROVINCES)

Customers due to travel on Thursday 13th June 2013 who wish to cancel their journey, can obtain a full refund before or after departure. If a customer wishes to postpone their journey for a date after the strike, this must be processed as a full refund, followed by the sale of a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers in possession of a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

TGV LYRIA:

TGV Lyria services are expected to run a normal service, apart from TGV's serving the Paris-Geneva route, which will be redirected via Lyon Part Dieu.

All tickets valid on a disrupted service can be used to travel on any other train, operating on the same route as the original ticket.

Exchanges and Refunds (TGV LYRIA)

Customers due to travel on a disrupted service who wish to cancel their journey, can obtain a full refund before or after departure. If a customer wishes to postpone their journey for a date after the strike, this must be processed as a full refund, followed by the sale of a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers in possession of a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

TGV FRANCE-SPAIN:

Customers due to travel on a cancelled service can obtain a full refund before or after departure. If a customer wishes to postpone their journey for a date after the strike, this must be processed as a full refund, followed by the sale of a new ticket. Passengers will need to pay any difference in cost between the original tickets and the new tickets.

Passengers in possession of a return ticket, whose outbound journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.

ELIPSOS:

Passengers due to travel on a cancelled Elipsos service can obtain a full refund. Exchanges must be processed as a full refund followed by a new sale. If the cost of the new ticket is greater than that of the original ticket, passengers will be required to pay this difference in cost.

Alternative modes of transport have been put in place for some Elipsos services that have been cancelled due to the strike. Passengers who opt to travel on these alternative modes of transport will be refunded the difference between the cost of their original ticket and the cost of a reclining seat ticket (provided the cost of a reclining seat is cheaper than their original ticket).

TGV PARIS-LUXEMBOURG:

All tickets with reservation (Public, Group and RIT, and regardless of the aftersales conditions stated on the ticket) valid for travel between 20:00 on Wednesday 12th June until 08:00 on Friday 14th June 2013 can be used on any other train, operating on the same route as the original ticket until midnight on Friday 14th June 2013. Tickets cannot be used to travel the day before the strike.

THELLO:

Customers due to travel on a cancelled service can obtain a full refund.

THALYS and ALLEO:

A normal service is expected to operate, therefore the original ticket Terms and Conditions apply.
