Classes of travel

There are two classes available onboard the TGV,

1st Class

Within 1st class you can expect a reclining seat an individual power socket a pillow and adjustable table. You will also benefit from a head and foot rest and an indivdual adjustable light.

TGV-premiere-classe

You can also choose where you sit and the following seating locations are available within 1st class:

  • Isole solo - Indivdual window seat
  • Duo Vis a vis - 2 seats facing each other
  • Duo cote a cote - 2 seats side by side
  • Club Quatre - 4 seats facing each other, usually separated from the aisle by a transparent partition.
  • Salon - 6 or 8 seat cabin (depending on your destination)
  • Seat for disabled travellers

All of the above do depend on the type of TGV you are travelling on, the number of seats available when booking and the number of passengers travelling.

2nd Class

Within 2nd class you can enjoy more legroom than before (92cm compared to 85cm previously). Your seat will be reclining and you also have an adjustable head and foot rest and a fold down table. There are also individual reading lights for your maximum comfort.

TGV-seconde-classe

There is also a commuincations area within 2nd class which you can use for all your business needs. The communication area is located within coach 7

You can also choose where you sit and the following seating locations are available within 2nd class:

  • Espace Carre - 4 seats facing each other with a fold down table (available for 3-4 people)
  • Espace Famille - 4 fold away seats facing each other with a fold down table (available for 3-4 people). There baby changing facilities nearby.
  • Kiosque - seats located at the far ends of coaches 8 and 1 (available on TGV Reseau and Atlantique)
  • Duo - 2 seats side by side

All of the above do depend on the type of TGV you are travelling on, the number of seats available when booking and the number of passengers travelling.
