Travelling with a pet

Group travel - Should you wish to travel in a group then the Thalys is ideal for this. Special group fares are offered for 10 or more passengers travelling together, with reductions from 15 to 50% depending on the availability. The earlier you book on trains with sufficient number of seats available, the larger your reduction will be.

Family Travel - Thalys offers special compartments for families travelling together and the options are:

Family compartment - This is separated from the rest of the carriage by a glass partition and has a table that children can use to play, draw and eat.
Seats - These can be folded away to store a pushchair. Family compartments can be reserved at no additional cost and they are available in carriages 6, 16 or 26 and 7, 17 and 27.
Baby changing areas - With a changing table, washbasin and bottle warmer, they are available in carriages 7, 17 and 27. Meals for toddlers can also be heated in the bar.
You can also request a 'family' compartment at the ticket window at the station if available.

Disabled Passengers

A special area is available in Comfort 1 for wheelchair passengers which are situated in carriages 1, 11 and 21. There are swivel seats to help passengers sit down more easily and the lavatories have also been specially adapted to allow easier access.

A 'Wheelchair' fare is available for disabled passengers and accompanying adults. Please contact us for further information.

Should you require assistance when boarding the train then please inform the station staff at least 48 hours before your journey commences and then they will be able to offer you all the assistance you require.

Travelling with a pet

Small dogs and pets can travel free of charge onboard a Thalys train, providing they are in a suitable carrier measuring 55 x 30 x 30cm or smaller. Guide dogs and dogs accompanying disabled passengers also travel free of charge. For other dogs, you must be in possession of a special 'dog' ticket at a fixed price of around 35€ and tickets for pets can only be purchased at the station.
