Classes of travel and services onboard

There are two types of classes onboard the Thalys and they are Comfort 1 (1st class) and Comfort 2 (2nd class).

Comfort 1 (1st class)

Advantages of Comfort 1:

• A meal at your seat. Depending on the time of day you will be served breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. All accompanied by a choice of hot or cold drinks.
• WiFi* on board. Thalys is the first high speed rail operator to offer a WiFi internet service* in 4 countries at a speed of 300 kph
• Electric sockets.
• Book a taxi for your arrival at Paris Nord and Brussles Midi
• Complimentry daily newspapers in several languages.

Your Thalys Comfort 1 ticket also entitles you access to the VIP lounge in Cologne, Amsterdam, Schiphol (Amsterdam Airport) and Rotterdam.

Comfort 2 (2nd class) -

Advantages of Comfort 2:

• Comfortable, reclining seats.
• WiFi* connection on board (there is an extra charge for this service in Comfort 2)
• Family area that is separated from the rest of the carriage and has a table that your children can use to play, draw and eat.
• Baby-changing aera with a changing mat, washbasin and bottle warmer.

The Thalys bar - Situated between Comfort 1 and Comfort 2 carriages, is open to all passengers. On the menu will be a selection of hot dishes, sandwiches, savoury and sweet snacks, salads, organic or fair trade products and hot and cold drinks. All of these can be consumed at the bar or taken away.

Public transportation tickets - You can also buy public transportation tickets (underground, bus and tramway) for Paris, Brussels and the Netherlands at the same price as available at ticket windows.

Your luggage - You can take two pieces of luggage as well as your hand luggage on board Thalys. Use the special areas situated at the ends of the carriages for your larger pieces of luggage. For all other luggage, use the overhead luggage racks. The dimensions of each piece of luggage must not exceed 85 cm. If you luggage does exceed 85 cm then there will be additional costs charged and the prices will vary depending on the size.
